Theraplay research is being conducted by Drs. Jukka Mäkelä and Lotta Lassenius-Panula in Finland. The
link below will lead you to information about an outcomes study they completed
at the SOS Childrens' Villages Finland.
Other work of theirs has yet to be published in English. Both of these
M.D.s are also Certified Theraplay Therapists and Trainers.
Two
large studies were conducted in Germany by Herbert Wettig and Ulrike Franke, who is
a Certified Theraplay Trainer/Supervisor. This research was summarized in a chapter of Contemporary Play Therapy (2006) and is pending publication in a peer reviewed journal.
With
the increasing demand for controlled, longitudinal research studies to support "evidence-based" practice, The Theraplay Institute has
embarked on several new research projects.
Results will be posted on this page.
We
also invite clinicians who have completed our Introductory Theraplay/MIM
training to participate in an international "pre-test/post-test" outcomes
