Help us raise funds during this Giving Tuesday for Camp Theraplay 2023! Our goal is to raise $5,000 to support scholarships for families and to help cover supplies and staffing.
– $25 Provide activity supplies for one child
– $50 Provide snacks and sensory items for one child
– $100 Provide aftercare for a child with working parents for the entire week.
– $250 Provide a half scholarship for a child in need to attend camp

About Camp Theraplay
Children ages 5-10 are invited to join us at The Theraplay Clinic’s Camp Theraplay here at our clinic in Chicago in the summer of 2023! Our week-long day camp focuses on building a child’s social skills and expanding their capacity for emotional regulation. Each day includes Theraplay group activities, opportunities for movement and creative expression, and calming breaks designed to help a child downregulate.
Unlike other play group approaches, Theraplay learning takes place on a non-verbal level. Instead of talking about positive social behavior, the group leaders and children DO positive social interaction. Positive messages from the group interaction gradually become a part of the child’s internal sense of self.
Scholarships up to 100% of the cost will be offered to any family expressing financial need as long as funds are available, and the camp will be staffed at a one-to-one ratio so that each camper has a trusted adult available to help them navigate their way through the week. These are campers that need that extra support – many come from traumatic backgrounds and may be experiencing mental health and/or behavioral issues. Learn More.
