Clinical Psychologist

Alexandra holds a Master of Clinical Psychology from the Australian College of Applied Psychology and is a certified Theraplay Practitioner. She has experience providing psychological assessment and intervention for a range of mental health issues to both adults and children, including:​

– Complex Trauma and Stress
– Adjustment difficulties
– Childhood attachment and emotional difficulties
– Emotion regulation difficulties
– Grief and Loss
– Identity and relationship distress
– Eating and body image concerns
– Impulse control difficulties

Alexandra has extensive experience providing therapeutic intervention for clients who have experienced early life relational trauma such as abuse, neglect and domestic violence. She has special interest in the difficulties associated with attachment disorganisation and developmental trauma. Alexandra provides interventions that are rooted in Polyvagal Theory, the Neurobiology of Attachment and Structural Dissociation Theory. She has special interest in providing dyadic parent/child attachment based therapy for children with attachment disruption, emotional dysregulation and Developmental trauma. Alexandra integrates a variety of therapeutic models including Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural
Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Somatic and experiential therapies. Alexandra’s clinical experience comes from working in schools, non-profit, private and university settings. In addition to her clinical experience, Alexandra has conducted and published research on disordered eating and child sexual abuse and has presented her research Internationally.
