Sam Bunnyfield


Sam is a Certified Theraplay Therapist, Trainer, and Supervisor, as well as a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor, with extensive experience working with children and families who have experienced acute and chronic trauma. Sam has worked for the past several years with a wide range of children and families in addition to volunteering as the President of the IL chapter of the Association for Play Therapy. While living in Chicago Sam ran her own private practice and served as a Core Field Consultant for The University of Chicago’s School of Social Service Administration. Now, Sam lives and works in Omaha, NE working for a group practice seeing children, families, and adults utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities to best meet the client’s needs including Theraplay, EMDR techniques, Adlerian Play Therapy, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, and Internal Family Systems interventions. Sam earned undergraduate degrees in Women’s Studies and History at the University of Kansas and later earned a Masters degree in Social Welfare, also from the University of Kansas. Prior to entering the field of clinical social work, Sam was an early childhood educator for many years.
