This model works particularly well within Theraplay sessions, as Theraplay is a relational therapy where children often trigger into dissociative parts.
This program will explore ethical principles specifically relevant to the practice of play therapy while looking at the responsible integration of expressive therapy theory and play therapy clinical theories. Utilizing sandtray therapy materials and poetic medicine techniques, participants will experience right brain contact with the tensions and opportunities held in ethical practice guidelines while working towards more socially just practices.
You’ve taken Level One Theraplay and MIM training. Now what? If you’re not sure if you want to commit to entering the Theraplay Certification Practicum, this is the course for you! This two-day program will introduce you to what supervision looks like. Several registrants will have the unique opportunity to gain feedback on one of their cases while others get to see and feel how supervision can improve one’s skills. Most beginning practitioners face the same challenges when they first implement Theraplay-based interventions into their practice. Learn how to work through those challenges, gain a deeper understanding of how to work with parents, and explore how to adapt the four Theraplay dimensions for the populations you serve.
