Annie Kiermaier
LCSW, RN
is a certified Theraplay therapist, trainer, and supervisor. She holds an MSW from the University of Maine at Orono, an A.D. in Nursing from the University of Maine at Augusta, and a B.A. from Earlham College in Richmond Indiana. Annie authored Chapter 7 “Theraplay for Children with Regulation Disorders” in the 3rd edition of Theraplay (Third Edition, 2010), and Chapter 6 “Home-Based Theraplay” in Theraplay: Theory, Applications and Implementation” (2021) Annie has a lifelong passion for helping parents and their children have healthy, joyful attachment relationships. After a 10 year career as a registered nurse, Annie provided home and office-based mental health therapy to families of young children in Mid-Coast Maine for 23 years, working with a wide variety of problems including families with attachment and trauma histories. She was a full time Theraplay trainer from 2013 to 2020, leading trainings in the US and around the world.
