Jennifer Jimenez
Jennifer Jimenez (she/her/hers) is a bilingual Level One Theraplay trained clinician. Jennifer has worked with children and families around grief and loss, anxiety, depression, trauma, family separation, and displacement. She has developed her skills through her work in a foster care group home, a rehabilitation facility, direct therapeutic services for children exposed to trauma, and group family therapies. Jennifer understands everyone has the potential to grow and promotes flexibility in the therapeutic space so that family members can form secure attachments. She believes nurturing relationships are a crucial source of healing, which is the foundation of her practice with children and caregivers.
Jennifer earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Applied Behavioral Analysis from the Iberoamerican University in the Dominican Republic. She is currently a Masters in Social Work Candidate at The University of Chicago, working towards her Theraplay certification. Jennifer is also trained in Strengthening Family Coping Resources (SFCR) as well as Circle of Security (COS).
