Job Description

The Theraplay Institute’s (TTI) mission is to build strong families and emotionally healthy children and adults through Theraplay training, treatment, advocacy and research. Theraplay training is at the heart of our mission.

The Theraplay® Institute is a growing international not-for-profit located on the north side of Chicago. Theraplay was developed by a clinical psychologist to meet the mental health needs of Head Start students in the 1960s. Today it is practiced worldwide to help children and families with attachment disorders, developmental delays, and behavioral challenges. The primary mission of The Theraplay Institute is to train mental health professionals, teachers, and others in the Theraplay method. We are looking for a Data Analysis Intern who will support The Theraplay Institute (TTI) and The Theraplay Clinic (TTC). This internship is unpaid but may count towards college credit. TTI and TTC have a large amount of cumulative data available to support our decision-making process, but much of the data remains in raw form. In order for this information to be of benefit to both organizations long term, we need support

1. Determining the relevant data that supports meeting established benchmarks for program registrations and product sales, increased visibility and credibility of Theraplay as a modality and TTI/TTC as organizations – especially in the local community, program and topic scheduling, and success of various marketing campaigns.
2. To support the staff in determining benchmarks (what defines success?) where none currently exist
3. To create replicable processes that effectively analyze the relevant data that we currently have available
4. To develop replicable processes to collect relevant data that we may not be currently tracking
5. To examine the current data available and analyze, based on that information, how well we have performed against various benchmarks
6. To report results and recommendations to staff based on conclusions reached
7. To create timelines for repeating data review and analysis and report on progress towards reaching benchmarks and goals

Specific responsibilities related to each department include:

TRAINING/CERTIFICATION

• Develop replicable process to analyze, report, and make recommendations on Theraplay Module training attendance and scheduling
• Develop replicable process to analyze, report, and make recommendations on in-person training attendance and scheduling
• Develop replicable process to analyze, report, and make recommendations on Special Program training attendance and scheduling
• Develop replicable process to analyze, report, and make recommendations on discount code usage
• Develop replicable process to analyze, report, and make recommendations on the Theraplay certification program

MARKETING/FUNDRAISING

• Develop replicable process to analyze, report, and make recommendations on advertising opportunities on various social media platforms for TTI and TTC
• Develop replicable process to analyze, report, and make recommendations on email marketing and general outreach for TTI and TTC
• Develop replicable process to analyze, report, and make recommendations on conference and community event participation for TTI and TTC
• Develop replicable process to analyze, report, and make recommendations on additional advertising and marketing opportunities for TTI and TTC
• Develop replicable process to analyze, report, and make recommendations on fundraising and donor outreach for TTI and TTC

Administrative

• Participate in weekly marketing department meetings, and program and clinic marketing meetings as scheduled
• Collaborate with TTI and TTC staff on development and launch of new initiatives
• Research and recommend tools to support data collection and analysis as needed
• Other duties as assigned

 Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in ???
• Strong attention to details
• Strong research and analytical skills
• Experience working with databases, Zoom, Google Suites, and Microsoft programs
• Ability to reference multiple sources of information to drive project results
• Ability to self-start and work independently
• Good written and oral communication skills needed
• Must be customer service oriented
• Excellent attendance
