Happy Holidays from The Theraplay Institute!
This holiday season we’re recognizing Safe Toys and Gifts Awareness Month. Here at TTI, we know how hard it can be to find the perfect gift for your loved ones, especially for younger children. This year we would like to remind the community about being safe this holiday season and making sure that our gifts are age appropriate and accessible for every child’s needs. The American Public Health Association encourages caregivers to:
- Be diligent about inspecting toys your child receives
- Check for small parts, sharp edges, or pieces that can be easily damaged
- Think about your child’s age, skill level, and the developmental appropriateness of the gifts they receive
Keeping these things in mind as you shop for gifts this year will ensure that you have a safe and happy holiday celebration. For more information, please visit the APHA website
This year, we’re hoping to give a few gifts of our own. We want to help our practitioners as they make their way through our practicum program. Our goal is to train as many professionals as we can in the Theraplay modality, so that we can bring Theraplay to families across the country. With the help of our donors, we can better serve our community and provide access to treatment for children and families in need. We kindly ask you to consider donating to our scholarship fund and help us expand our resources to our community. Learn more and donate, any and all donations are greatly appreciated!
