To Theraplay Practitioners and stakeholders around the world:
Due to the worldwide outbreak of the Covid19 pandemic, The Theraplay Institute is providing the following guidelines:
There are to be no in-person Theraplay trainings or events until April 30 at the very earliest. We are not certain of the events but will update our website both country by country and worldwide as more information becomes available.
We are working on creating a live, online program of the first two days of Theraplay Level One training so that trainees can begin the theoretical portion of their training experience. The subsequent experiential in-person training days will be scheduled once the virus is under control and health officials determine that it is safe to congregate and remove the mandate for social distancing.
Although each country and region’s rules about congregating, social distancing and commercial activity are different, it is the Theraplay Institute’s strong recommendation that Theraplay should not be practiced in person between practitioners and families at this time. The Theraplay Institute recommends either: 1) doing parent support sessions online or 2) providing virtual Theraplay sessions to parent and child online by guiding the parent and child through the activities and even doing the activities simultaneously while online.
Stay safe and healthy and look out for each other through this challenging time.
