Theraplay Clinic Application

Requirements:

  • Masters or Doctoral degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or related field
  • Licensure at full clinical level (LCPC, LCSW, Psy.D). However, clinicians awaiting full licensure are still encouraged to apply
  • Completion of Level One Theraplay. However, clinicians interested and willing to become Theraplay trained are encouraged to apply.
  • Maintain professional liability insurance
  • Specialized clinical experience working with children and families
  • Evening and weekend availability needed

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct telehealth and in-person therapy sessions, mostly Theraplay, for a minimum caseload of 5 families
  • Enroll in The Theraplay Institute Practicum and work towards certification, if still in the process of completing certification
  • Complete clinical documentation in a timely manner
  • Seek Theraplay Supervision

  • Compensation for hour session upon completion of Theraplay Certification = $55 -$84
  • Compensation for hour session while in process of obtaining Theraplay Certification = $46 -$70

Desired Qualities:

  • Experience providing Theraplay to children and families and/or groups
  • Experience working with children who have been internationally adopted, been in foster care, and/or have had multiple attachment disruptions
  • Experience working with children and families who have experienced abuse, neglect, trauma and diagnoses such as ADHD, ASD, anxiety, depression, and/or sensory processing needs
  • Persons with diverse backgrounds and experience are encouraged to apply. Bilingual candidates are highly preferred
  • Enthusiastic, warm, compassionate, highly organized, and capable of contributing new ideas
